About Our Project

The vision of Sanctuary of Love began many years ago in the hearts of Grant, Nellie, Aliou, Serge and Pastor Lucien. It was on a Samaritans Purse mission trip to Senegal that Grant & Nellie were part of. God ordained that they would meet their translator, Serge Nangui, on that trip. Together with Serge, Grant, Nellie and Pastor Lucien they received the same vision for the children of Senegal as Aliou, a friend of Serge and Pastor Lucien. Aloiu was a talibe boy who grew up on the streets alone. By Gods grace he was found and led to the Lord. After accepting Christ into his heart at the age of 16 he knew that some day he would help the hurting children of Senegal. This shared vision grew as the team was formed and in 2019, Grant and Nellie travelled back to Senegal to meet with Aloiu, Serge and Pastor Lucien. Serge, Pastor Lucien and Aliou  had a piece of land that God had put on their hearts for the project. What they found was a barren 3.6 acre parcel near Ndiaganiao. They dreamed that it would one day be home to mango trees, a garden, a beautiful centre for the children to call home, with training for life skills and lots of space for the children to play and grow in a safe and loving environment. After Grant and Nellie left Aliou, Serge and Pastor Lucien worked hard on receiving the Senegalese government approval for Sanctuary of Love centre.

Sanctuary of Love is a non-denominational, non-profit, independent ministry, supported by friends and family who have a heart for the vulnerable Senagalese children. We believe we are here to help meet the critical needs of this community and give them hope for a better tomorrow. With that comes sharing the Hope we find in Jesus. Pray for us as we learn how best to support the children, our staff and the community in this impoverished region.
